After looking over the survey that candidates have to take before the DoDMERB appointment, I have a few questions:

1) Under the use of medications portion of the survey, it asks for regular medication use. I currently have an IUD implanted and have not had a period in 3 years. Later on, it asks the last date of your period. Should I list my IUD as a regular medication?

2) When I started middle school, I had a really rough time and ended up going to the hospital for an overdose. I wouldn't...

We were surprised to find out from the eye exam last week that DS has color deficiency. I’ve searched on this forum to try to understand what the next steps would be (no results yet from DoDMERB). He is applying to the Naval Academy and we know they accept a small % on waiver for RL only, but is anyone familiar with the current SOP for testing? Will DoDMERB ask for a second test, such as FALANT, before DQ? I’ve read that FALANT was the standard for Navy at one time, but perhaps being...

Unable to DodMERB Site From My Computer

My DS is having an issue getting past two browsers to log into DoDMERB account that he has been able to use until this afternoon. He has tried using SAFARI and Chrome on MAC. Both showing that the site is not secure. Shows following via Chrome:

Please accept my apologies up front if this is a silly question. My DS got an email to sign up for dodmets to schedule his exams. On the application it says to go to the dodmerb website and to find out more information on the status. Does my DS need to go to both websites and have seperate logins? I'm a not confused.

Also, do results show only when both eye and physical exams are completed?

My DS is trying to register on DoDMERB, in order to schedule his physical exam. The site says that his application has not yet been added to the DoDMERB system. Is this his USNA application and when does it get added? Does he need to have the application 100% complete?

Hi all,

My application portal in DoDMERB says date letter sent single disqualification. Does this mean that my service academy application process is over now and I have been medically DQed?

This is what it all says;

Cadet had surgery 4 years ago and has not had any issues since. has Grade 1 Chondromalacia based on a recent MRI. Would this traditionally qualify for an ROTC waiver?

I recently found myself having to leave AFROTC. I have mild asthma (not exercise related) and my medical waiver was denied by DODMERB. I'm currently a second year student in college.

Leaving the program was difficult. I have tremendous love for my country and I firmly believe in the principles of the United States Military. A military career is a dream for me. Due to my medical stance however, I'm concerned that there is no longer a path for me to enter the uniformed service.

My question...

Is DODMERB used by Air National Guard or Air Force Reserves?

Hello. My case was sent to DODMERB 5 weeks ago from DODMETS. My case status on the Dodmets website is “closed.” I have been checking the DODMERB website regularly, but the status has not changed from “under review” in over a month. Is this normal? Anyone else experienceing a similar thing?

Chance of a medical waiver?

I did a search and found a few posts on scoliosis, but I would like a opinion based on my situation.

I would like to become a fighter pilot very much, however I have scoliosis, I have two curves a upper and lower, one is in the mid 30 range , the other curve is in the lower 40 range.

Is their any chance I could get a waiver? I am 18 years old, and according to docters and xrays, I am done growing and the curve should not progress much farther. I do not have any pain and the docter says...

Complete-Hold

I just went to my DoDMERB on Tuesday for my AFROTC scholarship offer. When I check the status on Dodmets it's showing complete-hold. Is this normal? It also says application pending date 3-31-17 which is still 6 days from now. I know some people on this forum who had complete-hold for weeks and had to redo paperwork. How long should I wait before I call to find out what's going on? Additionally, who should I contact?

Hey everyone,

I was wondering If I will require a medical waiver or remedial. I have 20/25 vision in both eyes for distance and 20/20 for near vision. The optometrist I think said a -0.25 prescription in the right eye and a -0.75 in the left. He said there was nothing to worry about but I wanted confirmation if anyone was in my position. Both eyes are correctable to 20/20. I find this surprising because I've always been tested at 20/20 at my family doc. Will this force me to get a medical...

DODMERB - Patience is overrated

My son submitted his remedial info two weeks ago - and got a confirmation email.

Two weeks later and there hasn't been a status update on the site. Parents counseled patience - I have seen that word used a lot here - but he went ahead and contacts his DODMERB case worker. Turns out that his remedial information was somehow stuck in the system and had not reached the necessary reviewed.

Bottom line it is prudent for a candidate to check-in with his DODMERB caseworker - probably multiple...

Disqualified for vertebral fracture

My daughter received a "Disqualification" notice for her DoDMerb. She was disqualified due to a compression fracture on one of her vertebrae. She got it when she fell down a flight of stairs this summer. Her orthopedic surgeon told us she should be completely healed by October. Does anyone know what her chances for receiving a waiver would be? Any recommendations on how best to facilitate the waiver process?

So I am completely finished with my usna application, but I recently logged onto DoDMERB to check my medical status. It appears that I have a DQ under D227.60, which is "history of uncorrected herniated nucleus pulposus associated with any treatment, symptoms, or activity limitations." I had a bulging disc in my back a year and a half ago, but havent had any issues since. I guess my question is should I be concerned about this? Medical Records?

I received the status of my DoDMERB case, and qualified for USMA but got a remedial for USNA. I have to fill in 2 forms, which isn't a problem, but I also have to provide medical records for a heart murmur I had when I was 4 but grew out of. Due to many moves and other factors, we don't have any medical record of this. I only went to the doctor for one test due to this, what should I do?
