Question for the more experienced here as a few posters appear to have a possible medical background.

DS number 3 is now considering a career in uniform. We have been through both the DoDMERB and MEPS process with the prior two.

Walk in clinic for exam?

The clinic my DS is assigned to for the medical exam told him it is just walk in for that kind of appointment, no appointment necessary. They did look up his name when he called so he is in their system.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Do we put the date we plan to go into the DODMETS system?

Also, the clinic is two hours from us. We are in a rural location, so I’m sure that plays into it.

Hey all,
I'm currently applying for the scholarship, but as I was reading around, I read some sources say that correction to 20/20 vision is medically disqualifying. My vision cannot correct to 20/20 in both eyes, as one is 20/10 (more than perfect) while the other is 20/100 uncorrected, which corrects to about 20/70. Am I still in the running?

Cadet had surgery 4 years ago and has not had any issues since. has Grade 1 Chondromalacia based on a recent MRI. Would this traditionally qualify for an ROTC waiver?

Multiple Letters for Same DQ Code

So my DS's DoDMERB portal shows multiple letters sent for the same single DQ Code (Hearing). Is it because they have IT issue or because he applied to multiple SA's and DoDMERB only sent DQ to applicable SA? Is the review done and that why they displayed a status of "Single" DQ. In order of preference, DS applied to USNA, USCGA, USAFA, and USMA. USFA notified him of the DQ and a waiver is under review. We are hoping that he failed the standards for two and passed for his first choice....

I've been trying to join since i was 17, 18 now will be 19 next year. I was diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder (GAD) when i was 8, and when i was 14. I have never taken medication for it, I was never hospitalized for it, I was in family therapy for a month or 2. Both reasons were due to family problems. Agency field in DodMerb is missing one service academy

Hi! I just checked my daughter's application status in DoDMerb and saw that only the Air Force Academy is listed in the Agency section. She is also applying to the Naval Academy. Will we need to complete new physicals and undergo a separate review process for the Naval Academy. Why is it not showing up here and what can I do to help my daughter correct that?

My Medical status for USMA was changed to SCHEDULER FORWARDED TO DODMERB on 8/10. I contacted DoDMERB asking about when I would be able to log in, and I was told around 8/15. There were posts around that time that there were issues with the website, so I waited a while. I was also following SA forum posts, and saw there were people now able to log in and schedule an exam, but I still cannot log in and have not received an email. Finally got an update this morning after starting the process back in April. At lot of waiting but reading here through this process we knew it was the norm. A little more wise through this whole process and wanted to find out what the next step is? Will there be more medical testing in order to commission before she finishes college? Concerned for her hearing test and the potential for change a couple of years down the road.

I am confused. I was given a Type 7 Non Teachnical AFROTC Scholarship several months ago, and I assumed that a DODMERB Waiver would be automatically asked. However, my status says Waiver Denied, yet I was never asked to provide new information for my waiver. Or does this mean that they have denied me a waiver. Commission Qualified and Remedial

The DoDMERB examiner found a medical issue I didn't know I had. I check my status each day on DoDMERB website and yesterday, a letter was posted saying Additional Medical Information is needed and they are sending me to a Specialist. However, my Current Medical Status for the USAFA is "Commission Qualified." Does this make sense to anyone? I have both a Commission Qualified status and a Remedial from USAFA.

I am preparing to undergo the DODMERB exam for USNA. I tore my ACL and meniscus my Sophomore year, and both were reconstructed/repaired on 1/20/17. I have two small screws in my knee as a result. The USNA Medical Considerations for Admissions page states: "history of anterior or posterior cruciate ligament injury, retained orthopedic devices...are disqualifying." I am under the impression that most, if not all knee ligament reconstructions require screws. If this is the norm for ACL...

So I was dumb and I checked yes to ever had a suicidal thought. It really wasn't like that now that I reflect back on it but it's too late to change it now. It happened my junior year and my thought was if I wasn't born would anyone care. That's what I put in my remedial too. Also in February I said I was gonna kill myself but it was only to get someone's attention because they were holding my valuables hostage. What are my chances of getting a waiver? Or do you think I would be okay.

Dodmerb Connection not Private

I just received an email saying that the DoDMERB has received my medical exam. It also states that I should go to their website http://dodmerb.tricare.osd.mil and create an account to follow the status of my exam. I looked it up and it says that my connection is not private and there are possibly attackers coming from that web address. I tried googling the website and it comes up as the first search result, seems pretty legit. What do I do here?

Hi, I just had a quick question.

Are you not allowed to wear contacts to your eye exam? I heard that you were supposed to not have contacts in for 2 or 3 days before the test, or they do not administer it. Is this true? Thank you.

After looking over the survey that candidates have to take before the DoDMERB appointment, I have a few questions:
1) Under the use of medications portion of the survey, it asks for regular medication use. I currently have an IUD implanted and have not had a period in 3 years. Later on, it asks the last date of your period. Should I list my IUD as a regular medication?

2) When I started middle school, I had a really rough time and ended up going to the hospital for an overdose. I wouldn't...
