NROTC DODMERB

I have 3 DQ's on the table (all were wavered by USNA- and I am still on the WL). I accepted the NROTC scholarship and the portal was updated and moved instantly to "Pending Waiver Review" w/ NROTC review board. I am just wondering if I should be the "squeaky wheel" or if the prior information I submitted will be enough to move the process along as I read that it could take upwards of 2 months.

Straight to Remedial?

If DoDMERB sends you directly to remedial status after receiving your IME instead of DQ'ing you, is that a good sign? Or is the DQ and ensuing waiver coming eventually (knee surgery within 6 months but will be post 6 months before I-Day, I've also been fully medically cleared)?

Timeframe for AFROTC Medical Qualification?

About a month ago my status changed to "Pending Waiver Submission/Review". I know these things can take a long time, but is there a certain date they have to tell me by? I'm trying to figure stuff out for college and knowing if I'll be doing AFROTC or not would be helpful with class scheduling, etc. Also is there anything I should be doing while I wait? Anyone I need to call?

Myopia Pending Waiver Review

My daughter was offered a 4 year AFROTC scholarship. Her DoDMERB status is currently Pending Waiver Submission/Review. Her disqualification code is D155.70 Myopia - refractive error greater than -8.0 diopters. She called to get her test results; one eye was -7.75 and the other was -7.75 with a cylinder power of -.75. This should make her spherical equivalent in that eye just over -8.1. The person she spoke with at the DoDMERB number given in the letter said that the numbers from both...

DODMERB- Exotropia

Hi,

I had exotropia when I was younger and had three corrective eye surgeries and now have almost perfectly aligned eyes according to my doctor. (my last eye surgery was 8 years ago). I do not have any current problems with this, so will it be a problem with DODMERB? I read the Army ROTC tsandards and it says exotropia over 10 diopters is disqualifying and I believe I have lower. Also, if this were to be a problem , since I got a scholarship are they more likely to grant me a waiver? Any...

1. This may be a silly question, but does anyone know if the physician who completes your DODMERB physical does anything with your medical insurance? Do they file your insurance at their office or anything?
2. I already know I have a condition that will need a waiver, and I already have my medical records to bring with me to my physical. Does anyone know what the process is behind the scenes of them approving the waiver? Trying to increase my chances/just understand this whole process....

Bronchitis?

So I passed my DODMERB with no problems. I was diagnosed with Bronchitis a couple of days ago and was given antibiotics for treatment. I'm almost back to normal now. Do I need to report this? If so, how do I go about doing that when it all occurred over the summer? I'm a rising sophomore if that helps. Thanks!

NROTC Color Deficiency Waiver

I got a NROTC scholarship, but I don't meet the standards for color deficiency. This happened to me for USNA this year and I got the waiver. I also signed with the department of navy about going restricted line only upon commission.

Is the waiver process the same?

Does uncorrected vision mean after surgery?

Seeing quite a bit of information about qualifications to fly. Some note uncorrected vision of 20/200 and correctable vision to 20/20. Does the uncorrected vision apply if after eye surgery to correct?

My son who is currently a high school junior really wants to fly for the military. He plans to apply to all service academies and will also apply for ROTC. But, he just went to the eye doctor and confirmed his current uncorrected is 20/400.

So, really important that we fully understand...

Waiver Denied

My DodMERB status has shifted from Waiver Requested to Waiver Denied but I never had any testing done. The website said I was supposed to be sent letters with the next steps on the process but I never received any mail from DoDERB whatsoever. Is this the end of the process or should I send in medical records on my own?

Odds for passing the DODMERB with previous anxiety/anti-depression

I've served 6 and a half years in the Active Duty Army. I'm reaching the end of my contract and have decided to finish my degree at a local University. I want to join the ROTC program there and pursue an Officer Commission upon graduation. I will be enrolling as a Junior. Upon entering the Army in 2011, I was under lots of stress from my grandmother passing, making it through basic training, and being sent to a duty station far away from home. I decided one day to visit behavioral health and...

Ganglion Cyst Waiver

I'm currently in the process of getting a waiver for a small ganglion cyst in my wrist. I was given a remedial on it and asked to send in a statement about it. I put down that I was unable to do push ups correctly since the cyst was large enough to inhibit my function back then. After I was initially disqualified I got a doctors note saying that my cyst is small and doesn't inhibit my functionality at all. Now my status has been at Pending Waiver Submission/Review for about 3 weeks and I was...

Complete-Hold

I just went to my DoDMERB on Tuesday for my AFROTC scholarship offer. When I check the status on Dodmets it's showing complete-hold. Is this normal? It also says application pending date 3-31-17 which is still 6 days from now. I know some people on this forum who had complete-hold for weeks and had to redo paperwork. How long should I wait before I call to find out what's going on? Additionally, who should I contact?

Peanut allergy & excema

So I wanted to know if I had a peanut allergy and excema can I still get into the service academies? I know you can get one waiver but how does that work? Can I get two? Will I even be considered? I know that the USAF now allows mild conditions of excema but what are the extra forms I need to fill out? I know they use the same DOBMERB for all.

Thank you.

My DS is attempting to become a candidate for Marine OCS through a local OSO. He has already graduated from college. The question is....once the OSO sends in the request for a DoDMERB physical, how long does it take for DoDMERB to send the email to him requesting him to set up his account?

The woman in charge of reviewing my case is out of the office until early June...I wanted to know if I would be disqualified for myopia because my left eye does not correct to 20/20. My right eye's vision is 20/20 without glasses, but my left eye only corrects to 20/25 with glasses. I'm currently in AFROTC and I'm really enjoying my time in the program so I'm hoping not to get DoDMERB'd. Does anyone have any insight on what the Air Force's vision standards are? I'm not trying to get a rated...

Possible DQ

I am currently "conditionally accepted" into the Army's GTG ADO...pending waivers and medical. My waivers are uploaded and good to go but I'm having some push back from DODMERB. After going through the remedial phase, I am seeing a D122, for history of ear surgery. Is this a disqualification and has anyone gotten a ROTC waiver approved for it? Is there anything I need to do in order to request the waiver?

Please advise.

ADD and NROTC Scholarship with Medical?

I am currently applying for the NROTC 3 year sideload scholarship, and I'm worried about medically qualifying. I was diagnosed with ADD in 3rd grade, and was on medication from 3rd grade to 9th grade (14). I then went on to score on the ACT 31 twice, without medicine and without accomodation. I never had accomodation any time during high school or younger, and my three years in high school I always had a GPA above a 3.o each semester, graduated with a bronze medal from the marine corps...

Help crafting a letter

Hi all! My physicians and I are kind of stuck with how to craft an eloquently written letter to submit as supplementary material for my waiver? My DQ's are:
History of head injury with associated post injury manifestations
History of adjustment disorder
Myopia - refractive error greater than -8.00 diopters (spherical equivalent)
*My actual eyesight is -6.00 diopters, and according to multiple doctors I do not have an adjustment disorder, so my NROTC recruiter and my doctors want to fix...
