The Air Force Academy requested a waiver on my son November 12. How long does it typically take for a waiver decision to be rendered?

Possible Disqualification
I am currently in the ROTC program at my college and am about to get my DoDMERB. I also have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). I don't have any of the major symptoms that come with this syndrome. The only key thing it affects is my menstrual cycle, but that is controlled with the birth control pill. Would this syndrome be a disqualifying factor for me joining the Army?

Waiver for High Blood Pressure?
Hello, I want to ask if there is a waiver for HBP since I'm worried that I might have it due to my weight gain recently. I know that this is something that can be fixed with exercise and healthy diet and not as bad as others like asthma, hence will the Army or DoDMERB make any considerations regarding this?

How Long Do I have To Take the DoDMERB
Hello, I received a three year AROTC scholarship and received an email last Thursday to schedule my physical and eye checkups. I want to know how many days I have until I have to take both of these tests by since my contract won't start until 2018?

Waiver Denied
Just found out my waiver has been denied due to a past back issue. My orthopedic doctor stated that I had "spina bifida" which I've never had a history of. I am going to a different doctor for a separate opinion to send in to the academy. Does anyone have any advice that could help with the persuasion of the board this time around? Thank you!

Waiver for Eczema and Allergies
I have a dry skin problem that we assumed was eczema. Our family doctor was the one who suggested it and gave me a prescription that was never filled out. Other than that, I have undergone no testing and have never visited a dermatologist. I answered that I had eczema because that is what I thought it was and I didn't want to not mention it and create issues later. I am currently waiting on a waiver for this and my allergies. I am only allergic to walnuts and it is not life-threatening, just...

Waiver for Eye Position Beyond Normal Limits?
AFROTC DS with pilot slot after 2018 commissioning has wrapped up day 1 of his FC1 physical at Wright-Patterson and says his eye position is beyond normal limits. Doc recommends considering RPA as more likely to get waiver (but apparently not DQ at this point). Feedback from anyone with experience seeking/getting a waiver for this condition would be appreciated.

NROTC Color Deficiency Waiver
I got a NROTC scholarship, but I don't meet the standards for color deficiency. This happened to me for USNA this year and I got the waiver. I also signed with the department of navy about going restricted line only upon commission.

DODMERB- Exotropia
Hi,
I had exotropia when I was younger and had three corrective eye surgeries and now have almost perfectly aligned eyes according to my doctor. (my last eye surgery was 8 years ago). I do not have any current problems with this, so will it be a problem with DODMERB? I read the Army ROTC tsandards and it says exotropia over 10 diopters is disqualifying and I believe I have lower. Also, if this were to be a problem , since I got a scholarship are they more likely to grant me a waiver? Any...

Anxiety/mood disorder DQ
So today I found out that I've been DQd by DoDMERB for a kidney stone I had when I was younger and two old diagnoses of anxiety and depression. I was tested for ROTC purposes it's my understanding that because of this a waiver review will start automatically. I have been off of my antidepressants/anxiety meds for about two months now. Is there any chance I'll get a waiver for those two things? How long does the review typically take? And what do I do if I don't get one? Do I still get any of...

USMMA to Active Duty Navy
I cannot find an answer to my question and am hoping someone here knows or can direct me. DD has accepted an appointment to the Merchant Marine Academy. She had a DQ for vision not correctable to 20/20, and received a waiver by USMMA. She also had an appointment to NAPS, but Navy would not give her a waiver. My question is if she wants to go active duty Navy after graduation from USMMA is that still a possibility or does her Navy DQ at this time carry over and preclude her from serving...

Allergy and Acne disqualify me?
Hello. I have two questions. I have a pretty bad fire ant allergy where if I get bitten by one I get hives and my face swells up for around 5-10 minutes. Will this happen to disqualify me? In addition, how serious do they consider an acne problem for I have pretty bad acne, but never went to a dermatologist, so never was prescribed anything like Accutane. Thus, am I in the clear for passing the Dodmerb for these are the only things I have to say yes to. Thanks in advance.

DoDMERB: "This site can't be reached"
Whenever I try to access the DoDMERB site it appears as "this site can't be reached". I've tried everything and nothing seems to solve the problem. I have changed computers, tried in different browsers, reset the settings and to no avail. If anyone has the same problem or a solution to the problem please help. Thank you!!

Hearing Test Standards for AROTC
All,
My apologies if this is a duplication and already posted here. My daughter had her hearing test yesterday and there are concerns due to a history of mild hearing loss. Are there standards out there somewhere that show the max/min standards for the test?
I found the link below which was mentioned in a previous post a couple of years ago but it doesn't give specifics.

What are my chances of a qualification?
Hello, I am a senior in High School in the process of applying to the Air Force Academy. I have my medical examination on the 9th of January, and I wanted to know what my chances were.
Asthma: I was hospitalized for an asthma attack when I was two years old, and ever since my doctor has given me an albuterol prescription every year just in case. I have never had an asthma attack since, and I stopped receiving the prescription Sophomore year of high school. I run cross country and have never...

Confusion with DQ for NROTC
Hi! I have been DQ'ed with history with a head injury (concussion from sports), history of adjustment disorder, and eyesight greater than -8.00 diopters.
The problem is I was misdiagnosed with adjustment disorder, I never had it. Along with that, when I had my eyesight checked and it came out with -8.50 diopters, I thought it was really weird since in less than 4 months from my annual eye check up it went from -6.50 diopters to -8.50 which was really alarming. I got my eyesight checked...

Flat Feet at USNA
Will flat feet present an issue for the Navy? I have to send some medical paperwork to DoDMERB, and on it there is a diagnosis for flat feet after some achilles tendon pain from running a lot. I have not had any prescribed orthopedics, but on the report there is a recommendation for OTC shoe inserts. I am hoping this doesn't add another issue to DoDMERB as I have already been through a long and frustrating process with DoDMERB and I am running out of time.

Trying to figure out what options may be -- are waivers granted for this?
New here...I think I initially posted this in the wrong forum.
My son has just started the application process. We started with the physical -- where a previously un-diagnosed heart condition was discovered! It's one of the most common (and easily corrected) conditions -- BUT, according to the instruction he won't qualify medically until he's 2 years post-op (assuming no symptoms return -- he's a highly competitive athlete, the symptoms he was experiencing were attributed to training,...
