My daughter has three conditions in her history that we expect will be an issue with getting her medically qualified. She has made appointments with specialists (all retired military) in order to get letters from them stating that she is healthy enough to serve. Should she send in the documents as she gets them? What is the specific wording that the doctors should use in the letters?

Does "Waiver Granted" status mean I got the waivers?
Hello. I just checked my portal and it changed from "Under Waiver Review" to "Waiver Granted" (I needed two waivers). Unfortunately, they didn't post any correspondence or anything else and are leaving me guessing here. DoDMERB Technician is away from his desk, I'm guessing for Thanksgiving.
Does anyone know if this means I got both of them? I find it hard to believe they would write that status if I only got one waiver....
Thank you.

How to Enlist with Fibromyalgia and Migraines
Hello!
So here is my dilemma,
I’m trying to enlist in the Army (or find any branch really) but when I was a kid I had charges for domestic violence which do look like they’re able to be waivered and cause no issue. However, on my paperwork from juvenile detention it states I had migraine issues and fibromyalgia. I no longer have any issues with these and do not take medications for either. I’m wondering if I still have a shot at any branch and if there’s even a slight possibility of getting...

DoDMERB DQ/Waiver?
Just started doing AFROTC this semester and I just recently finished my DoDMERB. Everything is normal about me except I have an atrophic left kidney (basically doesn’t function at all). I am assuming I am going to get DQ’d for this but is a waiver worth my time? It has never been physically limiting and doesn’t play any factor in my health and physical ability. But I know the process is strict, so do I have a chance or should I not waste the time if there isn’t any hope?

Spondylolisthesis grade 2
Hello All,
I have a 13 year old son and CAP cadet that wants to go to the USAFA or possibly the USMMA for engineering. We had a routine scoliosis check that came back fine. We had that checked because of family history. But when we had the doctor return with the xrays he advised us that my son had Spondylolisthesis level 2. My son has no pain and is an avid wrestler. The doctor (former Air Force) advised it would DQ him. Basically should I steer his dream away from going to USAFA or Kings...

USMA DoDMERB - No Action
Greetings, I am a USMA re-applicant this year and on my portal it shows that "No Action" can, or has, been taken on my DoDMERB. Is this because I already have a DoDMERB on record? I have contacted my FFR and he has said that USMA is not asking for my DoDMERB at this time, however, I do not want this to disqualify me as a candidate. Aforementioned, I already have a DoDMERB on record because I am a 3-Year USACC awardee and currently doing ROTC in college. Any information would be helpful.

DoDMERB Timeline Question
Hello. I'm new here. DS was notified that his medical evaluations were forwarded to DoDMERB this afternoon at around noon today. He got a message at 4:30pm that he has been QUALIFIED. Am I missing something here? He and I were always told that it could take up to 4 weeks to get a Q/DQ decision. Anything we need to worry about concerning the quick turnaround? Or just be grateful and move forward...lol? DS is applying to USMMA Class of 2024.

Waiver timeline for college applicants
I am wondering if anyone has any insight over the waiver timeline for college re-applicants. I just have an application with the Naval Academy and from my understanding last year, the waiver process comes after a Conditional Offer of Appointment. That being said, I submitted my PHQ in September and have been pending waiver review since. I’ve reached out to my assigned tech a few times with the same result - the waiver authorities have not made a decision.... My app to the Academy has been...

ROTC Scholarship and Granted Waiver
Applicant has been awarded a 4-year ROTC scholarship and was granted a waiver for a no-longer-existent childhood condition. Is that condition forever waived, assuming it doesn't reappear? Or will the candidate need to address the "medical history" of that condition during subsequent physicals during ROTC or before commissioning, triggering additional waiver requests?

Additional Medical Information
If a candidate has sent additional medical information to DoDMERB, and DoDMERB confirmed receipt of additional information, are we supposed to see that information being loaded in the portal. I cannot see that, hence the question?

Pending DQ for Visual Acuity Not Correctable?
Is anyone familiar with this? Both the short and long explanations are the same which is vague. Simply says visual acuity not correctable and then says complete 3 things for the AMI process. Any help or experience is appreciated as the items they are requiring are pulse and questionnaire on stitches above the eyebrow from falling when 18 months old. Also, is it necessary/required to reach out to the University ROTC department the scholarship was given to?

Colorblindness DQ but no history of colorblindness
Hello, my DoDMERB portal updated a few minutes ago to reflect my medical DQ codes. One of them was D156.10-Color vision deficiency that does not meet individual Services standards. This was posted on the Naval Academy and Coast Guard Academy sections. However I am not colorblind and I have no history of colorblindness or any difficulty seeing or distinguishing between colors. I am wondering if there was some mistake in the administration or filing of my test. Does anyone have any experience...

DoDMerb questions and NO ONE will help
Our son applied to both the USAFA and the Naval Academy. He started the process under the Air Force. He received two nominations for the Naval Academy and zero for the Air Force. Since he could no longer apply to the Air Force, he withdrew his application for it. In the meantime, his medical was flagged. His doctor wrote a letter addressing all the concerns, even though most were just listed as give a statement. We forwarded that letter to Kathleen Ometer and she said although he was...

AROTC Vision/Glasses
Hello,
I am a current high school senior who was recently awarded a 3-year Advanced Designee Army ROTC scholarship, and I had a quick question regarding the eyesight portion of the DoDMERB. My prescription is -11/-13 diopters, which I know is outside of the limit of +/- 8 d. I have pretty thick glasses, but I can see 20/20 with glasses and contacts, and I have never had any infections or other issues with my eyes.

DodMERB DQ Questions
Hey Guys,
I just won a 4 year AROTC scholarship and filled out my DodMERB survey and went to both exams. I had eczema when I was younger and mentioned that on the self reported survey. However, my dermatologist cleared me of eczema back in october/november of 2019. I mentioned this as well on the survey. When I went to the med exam, I told the doctor all about it and brought the record of my dermatologist clearing me. Based off of this, I have a few questions:

DodMERB, Mild Concussion
If someone can enlighten me with this whole process of DodMERB, please. I thought waiting for results from the Boards was hard, I am wondering if I should be concerned with the DodMERB when we note that my DD suffered a mild concussion from a fender/bender car accident her Sophmore year. She is now a Senior and received a 3-year AD. Please tell me there is no need to worry. Other than headaches and sensitivity to light, there was nothing else and she also has nothing else wrong (i.e...

Under Waiver Review
My DQ has been under waiver review since there beginning of November. I reached out to my Admissions officer at USNA in December and he notified me that because of my LOA my process has been initiated. The issue is that I know for the condition that I have that I will need to complete AMIs through a doctor. My officer told me to check my portal for any requests that may come through but the AMIs have not shown up on my Dodmerb portal. Is it normal that it would take 2+ months for AMIs to...

Under Waiver Review
I have been under Waiver review for the Naval academy since November. It says its due to colorblindness and non-correctable visual acuity, However, I want to branch marines would color blindness even be a factor? Also with glasses my eyesight is 20/20. Do I bring this up to DoDMERB or will I receive an update to my status automatically?
