Qualified status,forgot to list injury

I completed the DoDMERB process about a couple months ago and was deemed qualified. My medical history is on my side given that I've never broken bones, had major surgery, been diagnosed with asthma, or at least so I thought. However, I went to a separate physical the other day in which my doctor mentioned that I had been seen about five years before for osteitis pubis (inflammation of the pubic area due to overruse while playing soccer seven days a week, no meds prescribed, no treatment...

DS received a 4 year NROTC scholarship. The contact with the NROTC Medical Coordinator said they send his file to BUMED (whatever the heck that is) on March 12th and that it could take 8 weeks for the waiver decision. She said:

My DoDMERB was sent to be reviewed by a Concorde Case manager on January 16th but it still says under review. I haven’t gotten Q, DQ, or Remedial... what might be taking so long and what can I do?

Has anyone had a negative experience with them? I have recently contracted the services of Dr. Merchant (DoDMERB Consultants) two weeks ago and I have to say I am very uneasy about it. I had one initial conversation with him and then since then it has been spotty, if anything. I understand he is retired and travels a lot, but he seems to have totally blown us off. Asthma Waiver

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has received a waiver for class of ‘23 or has experience with the waiver timeline/process. I took exams back in August and was told I was disqualified due to asthma (I use an inhaler, but have never been hospitalized or had a serious asthma attack). I am currently waiting on a waiver, but haven’t heard anything from dodmerb or USNA in a few months. I have an LOA and nomination, so a medical qualification would be the final step.

Curious to know how long the qualified/approved status is good for. For example, DS completed his in March and did not receive an appointment to the CGA. If he reapplies in the fall does he need to redo everything?

Although he is 18, I still went with him. DS must’ve done a good enough job on his statements for explanations of YES to not need further explanation.

A few months ago I was issued an LOA to West Point Prep school shortly after an overnight visit. I was thrilled, I was ecstatic, yet it just may have disappeared from my grasp.

My AO reached out to me to inform me that my waiver request was denied.

So I had two questions...

Is this just for West Point? Or am I barred from ROTC/Military in general?

Why, Why, Why different remedial

I guess there is a letter being sent as of today which appears to have some different remedial codes. Why can't they ask for everything at once. I think it has nothing to do with the original remedial request and original issue. The code is R251.22 and on Dodmerb can't find what the remedial they are looking for because it has nothing in the description.

R251.22 Please $ DOES NOT REQUIRE A PHYSICIAN'S APPOINTMENT: PLEASE $ $$ .

Unexplained Syncopal Episode

My 16 year old son just received the DQ letter from Dodmers due to unexplained syncopal ( fainting) episode which occurred 2 years ago. We submitted EKG and Catscan results from the ER from that ER visit. Testing results were normal. The ER Dr thought he was fainting posibble due to dehydration due to a severe cold / Strep the day before. But he did not put it in writing....? Is there anything that we can do? His ultimate dream is crashing as we speak....waiting for a waiver from USMMA. We...

My son (AFROTC) just got to the question on amphetamines. He was “diagnosed” with ADHD (We went to the dr., talked about symptoms, were given a prescription). It was basically because his grades dropped in sophomore year and I panicked. He intermittently took adderall or vyvanse his sophomore year. It had no effect on him, we stopped the medication. Dr. game him is last prescription summer before junior year, but he never took any more. He grades went back up without any intervention and...

Good evening,

A bit new to the forum so excuse my lack of terminology that may or may not occur.

For a little background, I am a senior who received a 4 year AROTC scholarship and a 4 year NROTC scholarship. However, I was diagnosed with a peanut allergy. This was around I was 11, and have had zero history of anaphylaxis and was never prescribed an epi-pen. The way I found out? My mom had a "hunch." Vision Help

I know there are quite a bit of post about vision limits, but nobody really posts their results so it is quite difficult to see where I'm standing at the moment.

Vision is -8.25 and -8.375. Cleared for Army ROTC. From my understanding USMA's standards are higher and they tend to stick near the -8.00 diopter mark. How favorable are my chances in your opinion?

*I do understand that a vast majority of you are not doctors, but if you wanna help quell some my anxiety from waiting anything...
