I've received 3 nominations to USAFA but am pending a waiver for a stress fracture. I've been unable to get any status update so I contacted the Senator's office to request a status update on my behalf. I received the following response:
"They have advised that they are waiting for your final transcripts to be included in your candidate file before they can make the call on the waiver request. They reported to our office that you should make direct contact with your Admissions counselor..."...

I got a remedial. Is that good? I have a condition that is considered unwaiverable by many even though it has no effect on me. Is a remedial a good sign then? Also, if I get a waiver for NROTC or USNA does that mean I'm pretty much clear to join the Navy in the future? I plan to do special warfare if that means anything.

DS was awarded a 4-year AROTC Scholarship, he finished up all his exams earlier this week (he did not apply for any SA's which is why he just completed his exams), and his DoDMETS/Concorde portal now states that his medical documents were received by DoDMERB (which I was told indicates that Concorde's job is complete in this process and that it now goes to DoDMERB). He logged onto his DoDMERB portal and it reads the same as it did a few weeks back "medical under review"...it does give the...

I am under the impression that obtaining a waiver for Army ROTC is unlikely given my 2 year long major depressive episode I had, in which I was medicated following the death of my father in high school. I had a lot of major life changes happened in a short period and life just slammed me down at the time, and as a minor got no say in what medication I was placed on. I have been med free for nearly 2 years and have been cleared by the same doctor who put me on the meds. He actuallly highly...

Hi Everyone,
We were looking at the DoDMERB portal dashboard and noticed that even though our DD has applied to 3 SAs (USNA, USCGA and USMMA) and the NROTC only 1 SA (USNA) is listed as an "agency" requesting the medical review. Our DD has completed all the applications and optional activities (e.g. USCGA interview, etc.) and has packets scheduled for admissions board reviews. Feedback from those closely connected with each academy has been positive about our DD's qualifications for each...

One week ago today, I completed both of my medical examinations. Within a couple days DoDMETS updated my status saying that DoDMERB has received my information. However, my status hasn't changed since the day I opened my DoDMERB account. From what I've seen of other people's applications, the dates that their exams are scheduled, taken, and received are all listed under "Events" on the DoDMERB website.
Mine still says only:
22-DEC-15 Application Added
22-DEC-15 Date applicant entered into...

Hello ladies and gentlemen. This post deals with the same issue I've previously posted in the PLC section forum about a week ago. I'm a freshman in college and it's become my goal to receive a commission in the marine corps. I've been debating between PLC or NROTC next semester. The issue remains the same: three years ago while playing basketball I had a bankhart lesion which required shoulder surgery. My shoulder never dislocated, the doctor performed an arthroscopic surgery and left some...

DodMERB has DS listed as remedial:
R220.00 Provide copies of all medical and surgical records regarding right knee strain - Feb 2015
As was clearly indicated in the physical paperwork, he never was seen by a doctor, only the wrestling team trainer who advised he wear a brace for the remainder of the wrestling season to support the knee.
So there are no medical records or surgical records to provide, as he indicated and I mentioned previously.

My DD received a DQ for Anemia from Dodmerb after we sent more lab results as requested. Her count went up from an 8 to 11.8 after taking Iron pills and Birth Control. Her Dr said that was good but I am guessing not good enough. Dodmerb letter says that if she is competitive enough that she may receive a waiver from USNA. Has this happened to anyone else?

I am currently a freshman and am completing my second semester of college. I was awarded an AFROTC scholarship and have been in the program up until this point. I was disqualified from the scholarship before I started college so they did not pay for my first semester. I've decided that ROTC is not for me but I would still like to make sure my first semester gets paid for. Do I have to wait for the waiver process to be completed before I drop ROTC or can I drop the program now and still get...

My DS was medically DQ'd back in the fall, however received Nomination a few weeks ago from our Congressman. There were 3 others that received nominations in our District. Our Congressman presents an even slate and so there are no principal nominations. Will DS be overlooked by Admissions if the other 3 Nominees are 3Q or is he still in the running against the other 3? Is there anything he should be doing to be proactive in terms of a waiver or does he just wait to hear from SA?

Ugh. When my ds was initially filling out his dodmerb family history back in September, he selected that he had a history of psoriasis. He was taking it so earnestly and wanted to be completely honest and remembered talk of his psoriasis from when he was six. He had a patch of dry skin on his scalp that our M.D. suggested may be psoriasis. We bought tar shampoo and it went away. Nothing since. He is 17. Anyway.....of course he received a remedial just before Thanksgiving asking for...

I was just notified that I was DQ'd for myopia- nearsightedness greater than -8.00
My application for USNA is complete (BGO still has to submit interview write up), how likely is it that I may get a waiver? Is myopia waiverable for most people? My vision is correctable to 20/20, so if an academy does file for a waiver, how likely is it that myopia would be waived?

Does anyone know of a candidate receiving a waiver for Eosinophilic Esophagitis? My DS has received appointments to both USCGA and USNA but DQed by DODMERB. He has had one incidental event that lead to diagnosis in October 2014, his treatment included a trial of Prilosec, and elective throat dilation. A year later upon review with a speciliast, he still requires no treatment including medication and remains unrestricted.
Thank you for your help.

Hello!
I'm currently an AFROTC cadet. At the beginning of this semester, I was placed on MRS status for a tibial stress fracture in my right leg. Unfortunately, the doctor's note that the Detachment NCO submitted to DoDMERB also mentioned "scapular dyskinesia." I have since healed completely and have no more problems. However, both of these issues have now shown up in my online DoDMERB portal and a remedial has been requested for both concerns.
My question is, will a quick note from an...

Hello, I apologize for the repetitiveness that this post may bring, but I am hoping for a straight answer.
I am currently in the DoDMERB process, and I went to my optometrist appointment about a month ago. Going into it, I already knew I was color deficient, so getting a 4/14 on the PIP test was no surprise. When I asked to have the Vivid Red-Green test done, they said they did not offer it. So I just completed the rest of the test. About a week later, I was disqualified from Air Force...

Hi,
I am aware that having braces will be a DQ, but if you fill out the paperwork with your orthodontist stating they will be removed before I day that you will not be DQ'd. I have filled out the paperwork and had it signed, but I do not know where to fax it to. Could anyone provide the address for me?

my moms friends DS found out the other day they have what's called a CMN, a congenital mole Nevus. it's basically a pretty large birthmark that has a higher than normal risk of turning into melanoma at some point in your lifetime. I know it's a weird and unusual question but is it disqualifying, he asked me to see if I could help him find out information since I'm on the forum. I don't really see how it could be but i wanted to make sure.

Hello all,
Quick question if you don't mind. Today an ENT confirmed that I have a deviated septum and that the only way to correct is through a septoplasty. I am currently in 11th grade and have aspirations to apply to USAFA. Would getting this surgery potentially disqualify me or have any other implications?
Thank you,
Liam
