Body Fat--Football Player?

Hey there,
So I was recently given my offer of appointment! However, I need to do the body fat form. I am 6'3" and was 251 when I applied, but since football season has ended I've already dropped to 239. I checked DoDMERB and they said the maximum weight for someone my height should be 211 lbs. I don't think this is impossible, but I was wondering how to go about this. I do not see how I could realistically lose 20+ pounds in 2 weeks. Thank you!

How long does it take, when being considered for a waiver, to here back once my page has been updated to "Date Exam Review"? Yesterday DODMERB updated and said my remedial waiver information was reviewed. So how long should I expect to wait before I hear wether I will receive a waiver or not?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give me any information as far as getting a waiver for anxiety and ADHD go. I would like to commission, however , my medical records shows a history of anxiety and ADHD. I was on adderall for 1 year and have been off of it for 6 months. Waiver for Osteochondroma

Hi guys, I have one non-recurring osteochondroma on my left arm. An osteochondroma is a small bone growth out the side. It does not affect me in any way and I can't even tell it is there. I only know it's there because of X-rays. Would I need a waiver for this? Thanks.

Knee Pain Post-Appointment

Wasn't sure where else to post this, but I'm in a little bit of a predicament. I've received appointments to USAFA and USNA and I already accepted USNA.

I'm a Judoka, and the sport tends to involve a lot of pivoting and lifting, making it a bit hard on the knees. Since a few days ago, I've been having some bad inner-knee pain, and hoping it would pass, I laid off the activity for a few days. Hi y'all!

So I was borderline overweight when I took my physical exam for the DoDMERB. USAFA requested that I have my body fat percentage determined by a tape test. I got that done and a few days later, I got a letter from USAFA that my body fat "exceeds the Air Force Academy entrance standard" and that "the Admissions Office will consider you for a waiver and/or ask that you be re-measured." However, I just got the results from DoDMERB, and it says that I am "Qualified" on both the...

Nut Allergy Waiver

I have received an LOA to USMMA pending medical qualification. A waiver request for a nut allergy was submitted by KP. I submitted the food allergy questionnaire as requested by DoDMERB on February 24th. It was processed on February 27th and then the same form was requested again on March 16th. I called the medical tech to see if I need to resubmit. She said they had it and it is in the hands of the waiver authority. I am not sure who the waiver authority is. Is this someone at KP or...

Hello, I have a question concerning the insect allergy remedial questionnaire. The form states to confirm if I have ever been diagnosed with an insect allergy. The problem is that I have never been to a doctor for my allergy; but rather, I diagnosed myself with the ant allergy because I do get hives and swelling at the bite. I was wondering if the form means diagnosed as in I was diagnosed by a doctor and if that is the case--should I notify them that I was never diagnosed but rather...

Today, my medical status in my DODMERB portal changed from "Under Review" to "Remedial Requested". It doesn't say what the remedial is for, or what I need to do to care of it. Does anybody know how this works?

Pending Waiver Submission/Review by USNA?

I have been officially disqualified by DoDMERB's standards on November 21, 2016 after sending my required AMI's. Since then, my portal has said "Pending Waiver Submission/Review by USNA." I was wondering if this meant that USNA has requested a waiver for me, or they have not looked at my case yet? I was also wondering if there are any statistics on the individuals who are academically, physically qualified and have a nomination regarding a medical waiver.

Personal Trainer

My DS had an injury that kept him from working out or competing in sports during the last year. We are currently waiting review for a waiver. We have provided a letter from his orthopedic (retired military general) that lists him as cleared for a SA. Currently, he is working with a certified personal trainer with additional certifications and training heavily to be ready for the SA. Would a letter detailing his physical ability/strength from the personal trainer be a document be valuable?

Hey all, I received a DQ a little over a month ago for strabismus, which was really disappointing. I want to get the waiver process started but the dodmerb medical technician for my section of the alphabet never responds to my messages. I heard that I'm supposed to contact the commissioning source to get the ball rolling which would be NROTC for me. Is there a waiver processing person I could speak to there or should I contact the university I was assigned? thanks for any info

Recently finished all of my medical exams and my status on DoDMETS has changed from incomplete to complete-hold. Is this a bad thing? And how do I deal with waivers? I checked off and explained my allergies and single-time, experimental marijuana usage. Will a waiver automatically be requested or is there something else I must do on my end?

My son is a sophomore in high school. Top 10% of his class, eagle scout athlete high test scores and grades. He came home interested in armed forces options after career day. I started to think this may be a good option for him and then stumbled upon info suggesting his ADHD:anxiety diagnosis might be a no go. Seriously?

I am shocked that the armed forces can discriminate like this in 2017. What are the options. I don't think he can go off meds during his senior of high school when he's...
